a verandha is 40m long and 15m it is paved with stone each measuring 6dm by 5 dm. find the number of stones required.

Assume no partial stones are used,
If the long side of the stones is parallel to the long side of the veranda,
40/.6 = 66.666, so 67 stones cover the length
15/.5 = 30 stones cover the width.
67*30 = 2010 stones are needed.
If the stones are oriented differently, or if remnants of cut stones may be used, the answer will be different. It's important to specify all the details.
