The discount on a new computer was $110. This was a discount of 19%. What would a customer pay for the computer if a 3% sales tax was added to the sale price?

let the selling price be x
.19x = 110
x = 110/.19 = 578.95

less our discount = 459.95

final cost including 6% tax = 459.95(1.03) = 473.75
