slope = (-2-6)/(-1-1) = -8/-2 = 4
then
y-6 = 4(x-1) , using the point (1,6)
y-6 = 4x - 4
y = 4x + 2
test using the point which was not used, (-1,-2)
LS = y = -2
RS = 4x + 2 = 4(-1) + 2 = -2 = LS
all looks good
other forms, which can be found by just re-arranging, are
4x - y + 2 = 0
or
4x - y = -2
