Homework Help: Astronomy/Conversion

Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 6:05pm.

There are 365.25 days in a year, 24 hours in a day, 60 minutes in an hour, and 60 seconds in a minute. Convert years into seconds. Show your work and keep 5 significant figures.

Ok, so finding it is easy (multiply 24, 60, 60 and 365.25) but how does the significant figures part play in to the problem? Maybe I'm just not understanding what it is asking of me. Help! Thank you!
