how do I do 3(d+12)=8-4d ?

Please! need help!!!!

Fist you use the distributive property method.

3(d+12)=8-4d
3d+36=8-4d
Subtract 8 from each side
3d+28=-4d
Subtract 3d from both sides
28=-7d
divide by -7 from each side
?= d

when you are doing the last step from the above answer do the following

28=-7d
-(-7)=-(-7)
?=d
for the 28-(-7) do KCS K:keep C:change S:swap
your going to keep the 28 change the - to a + and swap -7 for its opposite.
your problem should then be 28+7 do this problem (28+7=35) then back to the original problem you see which one has the greatest absolute value and that tells you if it is negative or positive

what is the answer

To solve the equation 3(d+12) = 8-4d, you can follow these steps:

Step 1: Distribute
Multiply 3 by both terms inside the parentheses:
3 * d + 3 * 12 = 8 - 4d
This simplifies to:
3d + 36 = 8 - 4d

Step 2: Combine Like Terms
Combine similar terms on each side of the equation:
3d + 4d + 36 = 8
This simplifies to:
7d + 36 = 8

Step 3: Solve for d
To isolate the variable, you need to get rid of the constant term on the left side by subtracting 36 from both sides:
7d + 36 - 36 = 8 - 36
This simplifies to:
7d = -28

Step 4: Solve for d
In order to solve for d, you need to isolate it by dividing both sides of the equation by 7:
7d / 7 = -28 / 7
This simplifies to:
d = -4

So the solution to the equation 3(d+12) = 8-4d is d = -4.
