you are building a deck. you make a scale drawing with a scale of 2 feet=1/2 inch. the actual deck is 18 feet long and 12 feet wide.
Determine the length and width of the deck in the scale drawing.

I will start you out: 18/2=L/.5

You can use a proportion. Cross multiply and solve for x.

2/(1/2) = 18/x

2x = 9

x = 4 1/2 inches

Do the same for the width.
