Can someone please make this sentence more "English"?

THE ROLE OF ILLUSTRATIONS IN CHILDREN'S BOOKS WRITTEN BY GERMAN WRITERS AND RELEASED AFTER 1950.

This is supposed to be the title

There is nothing wrong with the title excelt that it is too long.

If you really need to convey all that information in the title, you could call it
The Role of Illustrations in German Children's Books released after 1950.
