The weight M of an object on Mars varies directly as its weighton earth. A person who weighs 95 lb on earth weighs 38 lbs on Mars. How much would a 100 lb person weigh on Mars?

the ratio is 38/95
so, 100 * 38/95 = 40

You could also divide and find the unit rate. Then multiply that answer by 100 to find the answer.
