so i'm going to try my hardest to type this out.

which of the following system of forces provides the block the highest net force?

a.) 11N--->[box]<---71N

b.) 405N--->[box]<---403N

c.) 227N--->[box]<---153N

d.) 22.7N--->[box]<---15.3N

I thought this was super easy, thinking all you had to do is subtract the forces. then the answer would be 'C' with 74N as the net force.

but i got it wrong. my teacher said it was A. how is that so? 'A' only has a net force of 60N.

To determine which system of forces provides the block with the highest net force, you need to consider both the magnitude and direction of the forces acting on the block.

In option A, the forces are 11N to the left and 71N to the right. The net force on the block can be calculated by subtracting the force acting to the left (11N) from the force acting to the right (71N), which gives a net force of 60N to the right.

In option B, the forces are 405N to the left and 403N to the right. By subtracting the force acting to the left (405N) from the force acting to the right (403N), we find a net force of 2N to the left.

For option C, the forces are 227N to the left and 153N to the right. Subtracting the force acting to the left (227N) from the force acting to the right (153N), we get a net force of 74N to the left.

Finally, in option D, the forces are 22.7N to the left and 15.3N to the right. Subtracting the force acting to the left (22.7N) from the force acting to the right (15.3N), we obtain a net force of 7.4N to the left.

Therefore, the block experiences the highest net force in option A, where the net force is 60N to the right.
