In one or two sentences, summarize what happens during each of the two stages of cellular respiration?

During the first stage of cellular respiration, known as glycolysis, glucose is broken down into two molecules of pyruvate, and a small amount of ATP and NADH is produced. In the second stage, the pyruvate is further broken down in the presence of oxygen through the Krebs cycle and electron transport chain to produce a large amount of ATP, along with carbon dioxide and water as byproducts.
