1.What does a circle with a star or dot in its middle usually mean on a map? What name would be next to this symbol in Chile? It usually means the capital of a state or country. This would be Santiago for Chile.
2. In general, are the highest elevations found in the Eastern or Western United States? The Western United States
3. Greenland and New Guinea are the two islands found with the largest land areas in the world. To which hemispheres do they belong? Greenland belongs to the Northern and Western Hemispheres. New Guinea belongs to the Southern and Eastern Hemispheres.
4. What lines measure distances from either side of the equator to the poles? Lines of latitude or parallels
