Homework Help: 5th grade Language Arts

I need help classifying sentences (compound, complex, compound-complex). Here's the sentence: I got in trouble so I can't go to the party, but it would have been fun. I answered it was complex which I got wrong.

It's a compound sentence because it has three independent clauses.

I got in trouble
I can't go to the party
it would have been fun
