Homework Help: 5th grade math

On a balance scale 5 books on one side of the scale balance with 3 books and half a pound weight on the other side. All of the books weigh the same amount. How much does each book weigh.

5b = 3b + 1/2

2b = 1/2

b = 1/4 lb
