Pls solve this using one variable:
The difference bet 2 numbers is 3. The sum of thrice the smaller and the larger is 35. Find the original number.

let the larger be x
let the smaller be x-3

3(x-3) + x = 35
3x - 9 + x = 35
4x = 44
x = 11

larger is 11, the smaller is 8

is 3 times 8 plus 11 equal to 35 ?? YEAhh
