The twentieth century–and the 1960s in particular–saw a proliferation of independence movements among former European colonies in Africa and Asia. Why do you think countries wanted independence? In what ways did these countries' struggles for independence mirror the American struggle for independence from Britain? How were they different?

Idk

Could u help me 2 figure out

this is what i found why they wanted independence: They wanted to control the destiny of their OWN country and of their own lives. You see, the ones who invaded the countries used the native labour and economy for the benefit of their own nation.

Why I think they wanted independence is because everyone was so controlled by there government that you could barely breathe without breaking a law! Okay, its not that dramatic but you get the point. Sometimes you couldn't even own land, the government owned it but you lived on it. How annoying could that be?!

The struggles? They both wanted to be able to choose there own government. They were being treated sooo unfairly. People wanted to change that.

I I think countries wanted independence because it was freedom from the outside control and World War 2 I think the country struggled for independence because they were controlled by the government and they wanted their own control they were the same because they both wanted independence
