how
many
adult
tickets
and
how
many
children’s
tickets
were
sold?

If x adult tickets were sold, then 200-x child tickets were sold. So, add up the cost of each:

11x+8(200-x) = 1780
x = 60

so, 60 adult and 140 child tickets were sold.
