X-3y=7

2) 3y=11-2x

3x=y-11

3)8x-6y=14

12x-9y=18

3x - y = -11

multiply #2 by 3 and add:

2x+3y = 11

9x - 3y = -33

11x = -22

x = -2

now figure y: 5
