Btw, I did it the way you said and I still come up with the same conversion of 29.8 * (760/1)= 22648
And 29.8 atm IS equal to 22,648 torr. You may be trying to key in too many significant figures. Is that possible?
22,648 torr to three s.f. is 2.26E4 torr. I suspect that is the problem.
By the way, on your first post I noticed that you showed 29.8 *(1/760) = 22,648 but you multiplied instead of dividing. You would not have obtained the right answer but the number is about 0.03 and not 22,648. You punched the wrong button on your calculator.
