**Scott**, Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 8:44pmYou need to form two equations. Since Frank's ticket is 1/2 that of his wife's, I wrote the first equation as F = 1/2W or W = 2F. Then I wrote my second equation as wife's ticket plus Frank's ticket are equal to $294. In other words W + F = $294. Then I combined the two equations substituting the first in the second I got 2F + F = $294. I substituted 2F for W so 3F = $294 and F = $98. Frank's ticket costs was $98 while his wife's ticket was $196.
