At a certain time of day, a 5 foot 8 inch woman casts a 3 foot 1 inch shadow. How tall is a nearby tree that casts a 13 foot 7 inch shadow at the same time of day?

Use a proportion. Cross multiply and solve for x. It's easiest to change the feet to inches for this problem.

68/37 = x/163
