So you want the angle at the top of the triangle where the pole touches the tree.
then the "opposite" is 3 and the adjacent is 8
looks like a tan relationship
tanØ = 3/8
Ø = 20.56°
Looks to me like a sin/cos relationship: the 8 is the hypotenuse
sinØ = 3/8
Ø = 22.02°
