For the function f(x)= 8/x+7,find the average rate of change of f from 1 to x.

Did you mean
f(x) = 8/(x+7)
then f(1) = 8/8 = 1
avg rate of change = (f(x) f(1) )/(x1)
= (8/(x+7) 1)/(x1)
= ( (8 x 7)/(x+7) )/(x1)
= ( (1x)/x+7) )/(x1)
= 1/(x+7)
