I think you don't understand how heroes in 12th century stories were described.
To call him a "boastful glory seeker" is attaching 21st century values where they did not exist. Please study this definition of an epic hero: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/epic+hero
Then revise your sentences, making sure you use correct pronoun references in addition to showing your understanding of the epic hero in literature.
