Homework Help: Chemistry(Please check)

Posted by Hannah on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 11:52pm.

Last question, I just want to make sure I understand the concept of hybridization.

For carboxylic acid the hybridization is:

CH3= sp3 because there are only single bonds

COOH= Sp2 because the oxygen is double bonded to the C

Is this correct? Thank you for checking my work!
