The basic table is
kg 1000
hg 100
dkg 10
g 1
dg 0.1
cg 0.01
mg 0.001
So you can see there are 1000 g in 1 kg; therefore,
2.868 x 10^10 g x (1 kg/1000g) = ?
2.868 x 10^10 g x (1000mg/g) = ?
Okay so would it be .002868? You would divide 2.868 by 1000 right? (for kg) or would it be 2.868*10^-3?
No and no. You're ignoring the 10^10
2.868 x 10^10/1000 = 2.868 x 10^7
2.868 x 10^10 x 1000 = 2.868 x 10^13
