Homework Help: chemistry (need asap!)

Posted by joel on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 4:13am.

is it possible for one molecule of salicylic acid to form an ester with a second molecule of the same substance? Use equations and/or structures.

Please help, i am pretty sure it couldn't because of steric hindrance, however i am not sure how to explain this further and what equations/structures would be appropriate!

thank you!
