Hi guys I just need to simplify this equation and I keep eliminating all x's so I don't know if that is possible. Let me know if i'm right or were I went wrong...my work is below

(2/x+2)-(x/x-2)+1

2(x-2)-(x)(x+2)+1(x+2)(x-2)

2x-4-x^2-2x+x^2-2x+2x+4

first, I don't see any "=" so there's no equation

(x-2)(x+2) = x^2 - 4

so, the final answer is -8, not -4

That is just the numerator. The equivalent fraction is thus

-8/(x^2-4)
