A phone company charges a basic rate of $13.99 per month. In addition the user is charged $0.10 per minute for all long distance calls made during the week and $0.08 per minute for all long distance calls made during the weekend. Write an expression that gives the total monthly bill.Evaluate expression if you talk long distance for 30 minutes during the week and 50 minutes during the weekend.

X = The # of long dist. minutess during the week.
Y = Long dist. minutss during weekend.

Cost = 0.1x + 0.08y + 13.99
Cost = 0.1*30 + 0.08*50 + 13.99=$20.99.
