solve the inequality
8/x+3/4/<2 used / / for brakets around x+3/4
possible answers
x<-1 or x>-1/2
-5/32<x<5/32
-1<x<-1/2
x<-5/32 or x>5/32
not looking for just the answer but help on how to do it

8(x + 3/4) < 2
8x + 6 < 2
8x < -4
x < -1/2

Ahh. by brackets you mean || for absolute value?

8|x + 3/4| < 2
if x+3/4 >= 0, then
x < -1/2 as above

if x+3/4 < 0, then
-8(x + 3/4) < 2
-8x - 6 < 2
-8 < 8x
x > -1

-1 < x < -1/2
