Multiply both sides by 12.
r + 3 = 12
Subtract 3 from both sides.
r = 9

You can prove it by substituting 9 for r in the original equation.
12/12 = 1
OHHHH i get it i wasn't sure if i was supposed to mess with the 3 because ya know how with some problems you don't mess with the number next to the variable soo yeah thanks!:-)
