the numbers are n and 5/2 n

add them up to get 77:

n + 5/2 n = 77

7/2 n = 77

n = 22

the numbers are 22 and 55

Let the two numbers be x and 2.5x. Their difference is 1.5x

3.5x = 77

x = 22

2.5x = 55

The difference is 1.5x = 33

Your answer is incorrect.
