What will happen when 100 ml of diethyl ether are added to 100 ml of water and thoroughly mixed?
a.) Water will form a separate layer on top of the ether layer.

Isn't ether mostly insoluble in H2O? And you know the density is less than 1 g/cc; therefore, suspect the answer is d.
