What is the mass of carbon dioxide produced if 1.95 g sodium carbonate is used?

  • intro chem - ,

    Na2CO3 --> NaO2 + CO2
    1.95g of sodium carbonate

    n=m/M

    n(sodium carbonate)= 1.95/(2x22.99+12.01+3x16)=0.018 mol

    Mole ratio is: Na2CO3:CO2 = 1:1
    = 0.018:0.018

    m(Carbon dioxide) = 0.018 x (12.01+2x16)
