**Reiny**, Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at 11:55amcomplementary angles add up to 90°

so if the smaller is x

then the other angle is 90-x

x = 90-x - 40

2x = 50

x = 25

so smaller is 25° and the larger is 90-25 = 64°

check: is 25 less than 65 by 40 ? YEAHHHH!
