a circular chimney pipe with an 8-inch diameter passes vertically from a heater through a metal plate in the roof. the plate has an elliptical hole that measures 8 inches along one axis. if the roof is slanted at an angel of 40 degrees with the horizontal, what is the length of the hole's longer axis?

i am getting 12.4 inches. is this correct?
