If 3/5 of the students (you can also think this as 3 out of 5 students) are girls, how many of the 5 students are boys? Present in fraction form. This is the simplified or reduced fraction.
fraction = part/whole = number of boys/ number of students
Set the reduced fraction = actual fraction.
reduced number of boys/ reduced number of students
= actual number of boys/ actual number of students
