The length of a rectangle is 2 in. more than twice its width. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 28 in., find the width of the rectangle.

L= 2+2W

perimeter = 2L+2W

28=2L + 2W
28=2(2+2W) + 2W
28=4+4W+2W
28=8W+2W
28=10W
28/10=W
W=2.8
