the ratio of the lengths of the corresponding sides of two rectangles is 8:3. The area of the larger rectangle is 320 ft^2. What is the area of the smaller rectangle?

8/3 = sqrt(320)/sqrt(A2)
Cross multiply:
8*sqrt(A2) = 3*sqrt(320)
Divide both sides by 8:
sqrt(A2) = 3*sqrt(320) / 8
Square both sides:
A2 = 45 Ft.^2.
