1)The line is engaged. Would you hold? Would you like to hold the line?
Would you like to hang on/hold on?
Which are possible?
2)You needn't have bought the milk; there was some already/there was already some.
3) To ask someone out to dinner (not for dinner).
4) because of the snow (because of snow is a mistake?)
5) check out of the room/ to check into the room.
6) We arrived late (is "came late" acceptable?) because an accident (not "incident") help up the traffic for more than an hour/one hour (is possible?)
