Explain and discuss the main aims of HRP. (20 MARKS)can i mentioned about the importance of human resource planning??

i have replied to this question by mentioning this :

Human resource planning aims to ensure that the organization has the number of people with
the right skills needed to meet forecast requirements.
Human resource planning aims to ensure that the organization has the number of people with
the right skills needed to meet forecast requirements.
human resource planning is important because it encourages
employers to develop clear and explicit links between their business and HR plans and to integrate the two more effectively. It allows for better control over staffi ng costs and numbers
employed, and it enables employers to make more informed judgements about the skills and
attitude mix in organizations. Human resource planning also provides a profi le of current staff
in terms of age, sex, disability, etc so as to move towards being an equal opportunity organiza-
tion. But it is agrued commented that organizations give little time to it because of lack of resources
and skills, the time and effort required and the absence of relevant data to do so.

ps, i would like to knw if i can includes some important of human resource planning??

You have done a good job with traditional HRP aims. You can include important aspects of HRP.

Traditional HRP includes the above. A more modernistic view of HRP looks beyond measurable skill sets, but looks to motivational sets. It (IMO) does little good to plan for skill sets if you do not plan for having a motivated workforce. That means, you have to look to side lines (child care, education, advancement, family, community) to include "whole" persons, not just a skill. I fully understand HRP seldom encompasses these, as they are less defined, and are more difficult to transcribe to actions. But my view that is that the work of leadership is to develope these "whole" persons. A very wise person said to me once, if one wants success, surround yourself with multitalented people, work on making them happy, and focused on doing things right. This is very askew to planning for "skill sets".

Without thinking big, one will never achieve it.
