= e^ ( lim ln[1 + (1/x)] / (1/x) ) .. the limit is now 0/0 ...

= e^ ( lim {1/[1 + 1/x] *(-1/x^2)} / {-1/x^2} )

= e^ lim 1/[1+1/x]

= e^1

= e.
