ms. sue i also want to say that jacob feel alone, but i not find proper word to say that he feel like a handful duty on his children. i not know what proper word to use.

    Yes, Jacob feels that he's a burden on his children. They do their duty by taking turns visiting him each Sunday. But this is obviously a duty they don't want to do.

    At this point in the novel, it's not clear that visiting Jacob is a duty his children don't want. It becomes obvious later.
