Bob takes 45 minutes each day for lunch. He does not get paid for the lunch break. How many hours does he work in a 5-day workweek if he checks in at 8:00 a.m. and checks out at 5:15 p.m. each day?

5:15+12:00 (the 12 hours is added because it is PM) - 8:00 (the time he starts, because you don't want to include the time for 8 AM for that day)- 0:45 (he doesn't get paid for lunch)=8:30 (time he works for one day)
5:15+12:00-8:00-0:45=8:30
8:30 or 8.5 hours * 5 days =42.5 hours
