label the subject and the verb of each of each clause. Then write whether the sentence is simple or complex.

1)Every afternoon the baseball team practices.
subject: the baseball team
verb: practices
simple sentence


2)When practice is over, the players are tired.
subject:practice, the players
verb:is, are tired
complex sentence

3) If they don't warm up well, injuries are likely.
subject : they,injuries
verb:don't, are
complex sentence

4)Baseball is not usually played in the rain.
subject:baseball
verb:is,played
simple sentence

    The only other thing I see is in #4.

    "is played" is the whole verb -- there shouldn't be a comma between the two words.

    Everything else is fine.

  • Just to double-check -

    1)Every afternoon the baseball team practices.
    subject: team <~~only the one word
    verb: practices OK
    simple sentence OK


    2)When practice is over, the players are tired.
    subject:practice, players <~~don't include "the"
    verb:is, are tired OK
    complex sentence OK

    3) If they don't warm up well, injuries are likely.
    subject : they,injuries OK
    verb:don't, are OK
    complex sentence OK

    4)Baseball is not usually played in the rain.
    subject:baseball OK
    verb:is played <~~not two separate verbs
    simple sentence OK
