well, since √4 = 2, why worry about it?
2x^2y^4√4:y = 4x^2y^4:y = 4x^2y^3:1 = 4x^2y^3
Be sure this is the correct answer. Your original expression has two : symbols, but your answer only has one. Are there any other typos?
