Start by brain storming. Think of all of the people you've known or read about who have a dark side. If you can't think of any, then you may want to take the other point of view -- that most people do not have a dark side.
Once you've thoroughly thought about this question, write a tentative thesis statement. Outline the two or three ideas that support your thesis.
Then write your essay.
