Homework Help: geometry

The trapezoids are similar. The area of the smaller trapezoid is 564m^2. Find the area of the larger trapezoid to the nearest whole number.

The smaaler trapezoid is 24m, and the larger trapezoid is 57m.

Possible answers: 576m^2--3,249m^2--3,181m^2--14m^2

Can someone please help?

area goes as length dimension squared
A big = A small ( length big/length small)^2

A big = 564 ( 57/24)^2
= 564 * 5.64
= 3181 m^2
