f ( 5 ) = 2 * 5 + 3.50 = 10 + 3.50 = 13.50 $

B.

x = 3 / 4

f ( 3 / 4 ) = 2 * 3 / 4 + 3.50 = 6 / 4 + 3.50 = 6 / 4 + 7 / 2 = 6 / 4 + 14 / 4 = 20 / 4 = 5 $

C.

f ( x ) = 50

50 = 2 x + 3.5

50 - 3. 5 = 2 x

46 . 5 = 2 x Divide both sides by 2

46.5 / 2 = x

23.25 = x

x = 23.25 miles = 23 1 / 4 miles
