I'm doing an assignment about choosing the best promotion by analysing some sets of data that have been provided for us. Other then the mean, what would be the most effective measure to use?

It would depend on the type of data. If not normally distributed, the median would be good. If seeking to show relationship between two variables, a correlation coefficient would be helpful. With several variables, you might use an ANOVA.
