An object of mass 2k is placed on the edge of the floor of a merry go round of radius 4 meters. The coefficient of static friction is 0.4 for the floor and the object.
1.How much work (in joules) is done on the object by the static frictional force to get the object up to speed V from rest
2. After the object leaves the edge of the merry go round with speed V horizontally, it hits the ground which is 1 meter below the floor of the merry go round. How much work in (joules) is done on the object by the gravitational force while the object goes from edge to the ground?
